Past Conferences

Throughout the years, numerous members of the Norwegian research community have been involved with shaping and filling the NFU annual conferences – making this event a vital forum for researchers from various institutions across the country.

Past NFU Conferences

2021 -‘Development, Learning and Education: Post-pandemic Considerations‘. the University of Jyväskylä, Finland.  The 6th joint Nordic Development Research Conference, 21-22 June, 2021.

2019 – ‘Knowledge Production in North-South Collaboration: Challenges in an Era of New Global Divides’, co-organized with Nordic partners, held at Copenhagen Business School, 27-28 June 2019.

2018 – The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Critical Role of Development Research, co-organized with VID Specialised University and the Justice Conference Norway, 8 November 2018, VID Specialized University (Diakonveien 14, room AU 12).

2017 – EADI NORDIC 2017: “Globalisation at the Crossroads: Rethinking Inequalities and Boundaries”, organized by EADI (European Association of Development Research and Training Institutes), NFU, UiB and CMI. 2016 – “Beyond North and South: Constructing Global Governance for the 21st Century“, organized by Centre for Development and the Environment and Oslo Academy of Global Governance, Oslo, 24-25 November 2016. 2015 – “A Changing Global Development Agenda?” NORDEV 2015. The 3rd Joint Nordic Conference on Development Research, this time organized by School of Global Studies (SGS), University of Gothenburg, at the Conference Center Wallenberg in Gothenburg 5-6 November 2015. 2014 – “On Whose Terms? 2013 – “Rethinking Responsibility in Development: Contested Relations between Citizens, States and Corporations” co-organized with Nordic partners, held at the University of Helsinki, 12-13 February 2013.
